In honor of hitting 10 issues, this pinky is 2 issues in 1. Read it from the front if you're ready to confront your shame head-on, or read it from the back if you need examples of shamelessness to psych yourself up. To procure those examples, we had conversations with two highly-requested (by the GCS community) diaristic substackers, Mackenzie Thomas and Quincy Whipple, about the delicate balance of sharing and oversharing online; the girls & they of She's the He about growing out of queer, adolescent shame (hint: it may take longer than you think, but it will happen); and solo artist Ama about deflecting the shame that's been projected onto you by others in pursuit of your goals. Because when you step out of the shadows and own who you are, attention stops feeling like a threat and starts to feel like connection. This is our case for getting out of your own way and choosing to be seen for everything you are.
